Problem Note 35687: Japanese and Chinese editions of SAS® 9.2 do not include the sample SAS® programs in the Help menu
In Japanese and Chinese editions of SAS 9.2,
the sample SAS programs are not displayed in the Help menu.
The problem occurs because the software in these editions of SAS 9.2
is missing some files.
English editions of SAS 9.2 do not have this problem.
Normally, you can access the sample SAS prgorams through the Help menu by selecting
Help ► SAS Help and Documentation ► Contents ► Learning to Use SAS ► Sample SAS Programs.
In Japanese and Chinese editions, the selection path ends with
Learning to Use SAS.
A fix for this problem is planned for a future software release.
As a workaround for Japanese SAS, do the following:
- Delete the following directory:
!SASROOT\SASFoundation\9.2\nls\ja\help\sassamp.chm
- Add the following directory:
!SASROOT\SASFoundation\9.2\core\help\sassamp.chm
As a workaround for Chinese SAS, do the following:
- Delete the following directory:
!SASROOT\SASFoundation\9.2\nls\zh\help\sassamp.chm
- Add the following directory:
!SASROOT\SASFoundation\9.2\core\help\sassamp.chm
Note:
If you use these workarounds, some localized files might be lost.
